Bristol Bay - Alaska
Alaska is one of the last true wilderness areas to be found in the world. The Bristol Bay watershed is not only home to the world's richest commercial and sport salmon fisheries, but is also Alaska's only designated "Trophy Rainbow Trout" area. Here, snow-fed streams flow crystal clear from the mountains across the rolling tundra to the sea. The purity of this nutrient rich environment allows fish to grow to enormous size. With annual salmon runs in the millions and Rainbow Trout in excess of thirty inches, anglers throughout the world see this area as the pinnacle of sportfishing. The Lodge is strategically located right on the banks of the magnificent Kvichak River approximately 400 Km southwest from Anchorage.
This river is the only connection between Lake Iliamna and Bristol Bay. The significance of this is that millions of salmon that return each year to the Lake Iliamna drainage area must pass in front of the lodge. That makes for some unbelievable fishing opportunities right out your front door.

The fly fishing is excellent on the "Home" river and the lodge is very close to many "fly-out" rivers. Throughout the Bristol Bay / Lake Iliamna area there are tremendous fishing opportunities, with that in mind, the lodge has its own private float planes and pilots to take guests to different rivers to fish for salmon, Arctic Char, and Rainbow Trout.
The central location of the lodge makes many of the remote streams very accessible and only a short flight away. Whether you decide to fly-out, fish a nearby stream or stay and experience the wonders of the home river, your fishing day will be filled with adventure and excitement. All of the fly-outs are included in the package price.
Fishing for Rainbow Trout is productive from June to October with the best time being June and September.
Salmon fishing is best between June to September. King Salmon June and July, Sockeye Salmon in July, Silver Salmon August to September and Chum Salmon July and August.
On our last visit to the lodge we averaged a catch of 20 fish per day per person.
